Greater Boston Food Bank

As part of our WheatonCares initiative and Season of Service, students along side a few staff members volunteered to sort food at the Greater Boston Food Bank.  A total of 62 members of the Wheaton community boarded a bus on a couple of Saturdays  during the fall semester.  The time commitment consisted of three hours but the impact is un measurable.  On just these two service projects, Wheaton volunteers sorted enough food to feed a family of four for a year twice.  In the new year the support for the food bank does not end, the Wheaton Men’s and Women’s Swim team will be volunteering on the morning of January 15.  This is just a few of the ways that Wheaton demonstrates how we are changing lives and strengthening community.  Stay tuned for more GBFB service projects in the Spring 15′ semester.
