She writes, “In May, I travelled to the small Himalayan village of Sarmoli in India. There I interned with Himal Prakriti, a local environmental group. I catalogued local flora, assessed energy saving devices including wood stoves and solar ovens, and analyzed a forest dependence survey taken by the villagers.”
