Kristin Petroff ‘12, St. Paul, MN
Shouse Fellow Kristin Petroff ‘12 did an independent project and volunteered at PLUS Time in St. Paul, MN. Kristin is majoring in Classical Civilization and English (Creative Writing) and minoring in Ancient Greek. She writes, “I proposed an independent project to spend the summer writing modernized fairy tales for children, inspired by a class I took called “Romancing the Novel.” Dr. Michelle Pickel mentored me in focusing on my target audience of children. To gain further inspiration, I also volunteered at the inner city summer program PLUS Time, which Dr. Pickel was associated with.”
