Community Scholar Sabrina Fiori ’12 Volunteers in Guatemala

This summer, Community Scholar Sabrina Fiori ‘12 worked in an orphanage that housed 75 children in Xela, Guatemala.  A studio art major, Sabrina organized painting and art activities for the children.  Assisted by 40 of the children, Sabrina created 10 life-size Disney character cut outs to decorate the orphanage’s living and learning spaces. Sabrina writes “by painting with me, the kids worked on their motor skills, used their creativity, decorated their living space and had fun with an activity that they don’t usually get to do.”
