A Message for Our Admitted Students

Spring is always one of the most exciting times of the year for me, when the purpose of all the hard work we do in the Office of Admission becomes clear: to bring in a bright new class of students who will go on to enrich and impact Wheaton College and the world beyond in the years ahead.

Normally I’d be emailing you about all the wonderful opportunities that Wheaton offers a talented student like you and encouraging you to come visit campus. This year is going to be a little different. To start with, we’ve extended our deposit deadline to June 1 to give you more time to make your college decision.

Because of the national and global health situation, we’ve made the decision to alter our operations and move classes online and students off campus for the remainder of the semester. In addition, on-campus Admission events have been canceled through May 1. We understand the challenges these changes present, but we at Wheaton are up to that challenge.

We’ll be active in the Facebook groups for parents and students. We’ll be posting a lot of video content and planning interactive online events where you and your family can connect and get your questions answered. We’ll be taking calls and answering emails and text messages in the Admission and Student Financial Services offices. At the end of the day, our goal is to help you make the right decision about where to attend college and provide you with the amazing, personal experience you can expect at Wheaton.

Most important, we need to hear from you. What do you want to know? Who do you want to talk to or hear from? Is there something you want to get a closer look at? Send us an email [email protected] or text us (508-622-7088). We’re happy to talk on the phone, too (508-286-8251). Or use this form to respond anonymously.

I’m excited about what lies ahead for the Wheaton Class of 2024, and I hope you’ll be part of that. In the meantime, I wish you and your family good health.

Sincerely,

Judy Purdy
Director of Admission
