The Connected Wheaton Parent

102 days ago, your student moved to Wheaton College. Whether they are a returning student or new student to Wheaton, their and your lives shifted and continues to shift as you navigate the semester. With every academic milestone, campus holiday and moment of calling home for support, you’ve been navigating the semester as a Wheaton parent.

From the moment your student became a Wheatie, you did, too. As a Wheaton parent, you are not only connected to the College but also play an integral role in its vibrant community.

Your involvement as a parent is key to supporting both the College’s mission and the success of your student. Through programs from the Dean of Students, Admissions and the Division of Advancement, you have the opportunity to strengthen the Wheaton community while making a lasting impact on your student’s experience and future.

Parents and families all together for Wheaton

Our Wheaton parents have supported our community in myriad ways—shaping Wheaton as volunteers, sharing expertise as internship/externship mentors, connecting as alumni parents or providing philanthropic support. Together, we can strengthen our influential network, grow new academic programs, enhance athletic offerings, increase enrollment and support our students, faculty and iconic campus.

One of the college’s strategic priorities is to enhance meaningful engagement and connections among all Wheaton community members—including parents. You can read more about this initiative in the fall issue of Wheaton magazine.

Stay connected throughout the semester

Wheaton parents can stay connected with each other, learn about campus news and serve the college’s mission  by participating and partnering with Wheaton as members of the following groups:

  • Parents Advisory Council is a group of parents, educators and administrators sharing information collaboratively to ensure educational excellence for students and the important voice of parents at the College.
  • Parent Ambassadors help Admissions welcome new families to the Wheaton community and promote the college to prospective students and parents.
  • Parents Leadership Council helps to develop Wheaton’s culture of philanthropy through their leadership gifts and by encouraging others to support the college.
  • Wheaton College Parents/Guardians Facebook Group is a peer-to-peer group for Wheaton parents to share information and get to know one another. This group provides resources, guidance and relevant information to Wheaton parents and families.
  • Wheaton Parents and Families Resources on our website serve as an ongoing resource throughout your student’s college journey.

These resources are made possible through the dedicated support of Wheaton parents and families, alongside the college’s commitment to recognize parents as integral community members.

Making a gift to Wheaton this giving season

As we approach the holiday season and the conclusion of the semester, we thank you for your continued support, whether through your attendance at on-campus events like our Family and Friends Weekend, or your contributions to our community from around the world.

We invite you to celebrate this season of giving by making a donation to Wheaton as part of Giving Tuesday or your calendar year-end giving. Your gift, no matter the size, helps fuel innovation, support scholarships, enhance campus resources and expand access to a world-class education, ultimately transforming the lives of our students.

Join us in making a lasting impact on Giving Tuesday (December 3) and share the news with fellow Wheaton parents and on social media. By supporting initiatives on this global day of giving, parents can play an active role in advancing the college’s mission and student success.

If you have any questions about engagement opportunities available to Wheaton parents and families, please email us.

Looking ahead to the spring semester

As we celebrate 102 days of your student attending the college and your role as a Wheaton parent, we look forward to the next 185 days (to be exact) of the academic year. We are excited to work with you as partners in your student’s education and Wheaton experience.

Best wishes to each of you for a happy and healthy holiday season!
