B. Aidan Flanagan

As Associate Vice President for Legal Affairs, B. Aidan Flanagan is responsible for guiding the development and implementation of numerous college protocols and practices, with a focus on mitigating institutional risk and fostering a culture of compliance and equity.

Before coming to Wheaton, Aidan practiced law at Rose Law Partners in Boston where he served as outside counsel for colleges and universities in Massachusetts. During that time, he represented several higher education institutions as well as other organizations in litigation and offered counsel on various employment law issues.

Aidan was an associate at Goodwin Procter where he focused his practice on business litigation and internal investigations. Aidan began his legal career as a Special Assistant District Attorney in the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office in Boston, prosecuting misdemeanors and minor felonies in the Boston Municipal Court (Central Division) and arguing appeals in the Massachusetts Appeals Court and the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court.

Aidan earned a bachelor of arts in History from Harvard and a J.D. from Washington University School of Law in St. Louis. An avid road cyclist and soccer enthusiast, Aidan lives in Concord, Massachusetts with his wife and three children.
