Travis Worthley

Travis Worthley ’05. Composer, Teacher. My experience as a composer since graduating from Wheaton has been deeply rewarding. Wheaton College provided the foundation for earning my graduate degree in music composition, becoming the conductor and director of a concert band, and having numerous original compositions performed around New England and elsewhere. For me, composing music is necessary for a sense of fulfillment and it is an avocation I will explore and improve for the rest of my life. Composing has also created the opportunity to meet some of the finest musicians in the area, make friends and forge lifelong relationships. Currently, my goals include completing a Ph.D. in composition, improving my skills as a musical educator, and of course, writing more music.

The faculty at Wheaton has my deepest gratitude for providing a solid musical education, and countless performance opportunities during my years of matriculation and afterwards. They have always supported my endeavors and are forever willing to give advice, write a letter of recommendation, or just talk. I am proud to count many of them among my friends.
