Kate TanguayKate (Tanguay) Kent ’06. Music Teacher, Violinist and Chamber Musician. Upon her graduation from Wheaton Kate delved into the private school teaching world.  She taught general music for 2 years at an all boys middle school.  She then decided to try out the west coast and obtained a high school music position in Los Angeles.  She met her husband while teaching there and they decided to move back to their New England roots.  She now teaches elementary and middle school general music at a private school on the north shore.  She created the performing string group, ‘Seacoast Strings’ with her longtime music pal and they are performing for weddings and functions throughout New England.  Kate has also started her own business teaching private lessons.  In her five years of teaching grades PK-12, Kate has tackled bands, choruses, string ensembles, musicals, Orff instruments, Kodaly singing, and worked with hundreds of inspirational students.  She uses her Wheaton education every step of the way and is thankful to her music teachers there for their vast knowledge of music in the classroom.
