The Art of Intellectual Community: Early Modern Objects and Pedagogy
In conjunction with the New England Renaissance Conference, the Beard and Weil Galleries will present objects from the Wheaton College Permanent Collection. Displaying early printed books, tapestries, engravings, sculptures, and stained glass, the exhibit reveals how artistic production and exchanges helped communities form, in particular by elaborating the rhetoric of family. The exhibit also explains how the examination and analysis of these objects as class exercises help foster intellectual community among students.
