Readings by the Writer—Miriam Sagan

October 24, 2013

Sagan is a poet, essayist, memoirist and teacher. She is the author of over a dozen books. A graduate of Harvard with an M.A. in creative writing from Boston University, Miriam was one of the editors of the Boston area-based Aspect Magazine. She lives and works in Santa Fe where she is a founding member of the collaborative press Tres Chicas Books. Her most recent work Seven Places in America: A Poetic Sojourn is based on seven journeys in the U.S. in search of remoteness, solitude, and inspiration. While composing the included poems, Sagan was an artist in residence in two National Parks. Each section of the book is introduced by an essay on the residency. Seven Places in America is about location, borders, beauty, destruction, and the poet in the landscape.
