Nora Baynes ’11 feels the beat

I am currently working as Professor Huiskamp’s research assistant.  I went abroad to Brazil with the SIT: Social Justice & Sustainable Development Program and worked with an all women’s Afro-Brazilian Drumming Group in a Favela there. I also traveled to Uganda the summer after my freshman year and taught English at an orphanage school with a Wheaton Fellows Grant. The Balfour Scholarship award allowed me to travel; to Thailand the summer after my sophomore year to work at a wildlife rescue and rehabilitation center.
