Government in action
Students from political science professor Lindsay Flynn’s class on urban politics learn about the interaction of local, state, and federal governments in shaping the political and policy landscape of cities. They recently traveled to Providence to see these dynamics in action. Visiting City Hall, the State House, and the Department of Health, students spoke with policy-makers at multiple levels of government and at different stages of the policy process.
Students are pictured at the State House with Gabe Amo, Class of 2010, from the Office of the Governor, who spoke about governance, and with Representative Shelby Maldonado, who spoke about housing policy.
