Charlotte Marshall-Bowman

I am a Media Relations Manager for AARP, a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization with a membership that helps people 50+ have choice and control in ways that are beneficial and affordable to them and society as a whole. As A Media Relations Manager for AARP my focus is primarily Hispanic Media. I am in charge of all Hispanic media outreach (a huge task at time). On a daily basis I work with national media ranging from Univision, the AP, to CNN en español. I also work very closely with our Multicultural Market department and help synchronize our messaging to the public to help ensure that 50+ Hispanics know AARP, trust the organization and use us as a valuable resource.

I would never have been promoted to the position that I am in if it hadn’t been for the amazing professors in the Hispanic Studies department at Wheaton.  They were some of the best teachers I have ever had, whether we were discussing Cien Años de Soledad or the cultural importance of olive oil in Spain it was an invaluable experience that absolutely got me to where I am now and probably had a hand in helping me meet my Cuban fiance!
