What is the strangest thing you have noticed about US culture?
Everyone’s honesty and straightforwardness!
How are you involved on campus?
I am the President of SASI, an Admissions Ambassador, and member of Mayfellows

Pizza and Biryani

Shawshank Redemption
What is your favorite place in the US?
New Orleans
What do you miss about your home country?
I miss the food and the culture, there are certain holidays that can never be recreated outside the borders of your home country unfortunately
What do you like about Wheaton?
The people are incredible, very nice, and so inspiring.
What is your favorite place on campus to socialize?
I love to socialize at the Lyon’s Den! The vibe is very relaxing, and just invites everyone into its own comfort zone
What do you want others to know about your home country/culture?
Pakistanis are extremely open hearted and kind, and will never reject your offer for a cup of chai!
What is one thing you have learned about the US since being here (cultural concerns, history, etc)?
There is a deep and complicated relationship between individuals and their identities. The USA truly helped me become aware of the intersectionality I represent, and the power I have to advocate for parts of my identity that others may not be able to. It is important to respect each individual for who they are, and to never pass any judgments based on your own previous misconceptions.
