Searching for WIIH Executive Fellows

The Wheaton Institute for the Interdisciplinary Humanities (WIIH) is accepting applications from Wheaton College students to join the WIIH Executive Fellows Program for the 2015-16 academic year. This year’s WIIH theme is “Gender and Social Justice: Innovation and Community Action.”

WIIH Executive Fellows Program is comprised of a competitively selected group of students who will have the opportunity to expand their classroom learning by initiating, planning and executing a social justice project on the Wheaton College campus. WIIH Executive Fellows can expect to develop skills in project management, public writing, social media strategy, marketing design, public relations and professional networking.

Working closely with WIIH Co-Directors, students commit to work beyond the requirements of the conventional classrooms and by doing so they also work to bring about positive social change to the Wheaton College community.

To be a WIIH Executive Fellow you must commit to:

  • Enrolling in one of the following four courses WGS 401- Women and Gender Studies Senior Seminar (Fall 2015 M 2:00-4:50), ANTH 265- Medical Anthropology (Spring 2016 MW 12:30-1:50), ANTH/SOC/WGS 311- Violence Against Women (Spring 2016 W 2:00-4:50) or WGS 101 (Spring 2016 TR 12:30-1:50).
  • Dedicating on average 2 hours per week to WIIH training, lectures and project management work. This work is in excess of course requirements and spans both semesters.
  • Writing a sharable reflexive work diary.

To apply to become a WIIH Executive Fellow you must submit an application by 4pm on April 15th, 2015.
