Creativity in Hard Times: The Federal Music Project of the 1930’s featuring Leslie Amper, piano

Visiting Artist Leslie Amper presents a piano performance and lecture telling the story of the Federal Music Project, the musical division of President Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s WPA initiative. The live performance preceding the lecture will include music by William Grant Still, Amy Beach, Henry Cowell, Roger Sessions, Ernest Bloch, and Aaron Copland.
