Maya Ambroise ’13

Maya Ambroise received a Wheaton Fellowship to intern this past summer at the Chennai Care Foundation, a social service agency for children and their families, located in Chennai, India. She worked at their daycare center, adoption agency and school for children with developmental disabilities. Maya’s experience gave her an opportunity to learn about direct service agencies and to work with children on social and emotional skills. Many of the children served by this organization come from a rough family environment and the daycare center allows their single mothers to work during the day.
