Wollstonecraft on Marriage

Prof. Nancy Kendrick recently published an article, entitled “Wollstonecraft on Marriage as Virtue Friendship”, in the book The Social and Political Philosophy of Mary Wollstonecraft.

“Wollstonecraft’s assertion… that marriage is friendship has led some commentators to conclude that amorous love has no place in her conception of marriage,” Prof. Kendrick states in the article, which discusses the complexities and complications of Wollstonecraft’s view of the relationship between marriage and moral friendship.
