Photography and Democracy: Artist Talk by Cedric Nunn
September 23, 2015
Cedric Nunn began to take photographs professionally in the early 1980s in South Africa and is well known for images taken during the struggle period under Apartheid rule and from the transition to democracy in the 1990s. He has exhibited extensively in South Africa and Europe, and in 2012 David Krut Projects presented Call and Response, a traveling retrospective of photographs and Nunn’s first solo exhibition in New York. His latest series of photographs focusing on South Africa’s 100 Years War is currently on display in the Beard Gallery. Nunn’s lecture will be followed by a reception and book signing in the Haas Concourse.
