How I Leveraged a Great Career from a Fine Arts Degree featuring David Mayo
September 23, 2014
It has been said that fine or liberal arts curricula should include training in the art of eloquently asking, “Would you like fries with that?” Career-oriented students (and parents) often consider these areas of study optional or even “recreational.” David Mayo would argue that allowing yourself to pursue knowledge in the abstract is both fulfilling and valuable. There are always risks when following your heart in your choice of study, but there are always career options for those who apply the most important aspect of their education—creativity. Mayo will be speaking about his personal journey after earning his bachelor of fine arts degree in sculpture—and, no, he has never uttered the phrase “Would you like fries with that” professionally.
