Nicholas Mirzoeff is professor of media, culture and communication in the Steinhardt School at NYU. His lecture will include discussions about Occupy 2012 as militant research and will include discussion on other forms of activism and knowledge production, the roots of this social movement in Africa, and the gendered implications of, and lessons learned from Occupy.
