Community Scholar Kathleen Knapp ‘11 interned at the Mass Audubon Society – Coastal Waterbird Program in Chatham, MA. Kathleen is majoring in Biology. She writes, “As an intern for Mass Audubon Society, I monitored active nests for piping plovers, least terns, and American Oystercatchers. Daily activities included recording the number of chicks from each brood, determination of cause for failed nests, and searching for new active nests on a barrier beach.”
