Adara Meyers ’08

Playwright & Editor | Providence, RI

My time as an English major at Wheaton was — and continues to be — invaluable to my development as an artist and critical thinker. The department truly encourages a culture of inquiry and challenge in which the intersections of subject matter and practice are explored and expanded. My experiences studying playwriting, cultural theories, and diverse literatures gave enormous shape to both my professional goals and my desire to sustainably engage my creative and critical interests.

I greatly attribute my development and success as a playwright and educational publishing editor to the close relationships I developed with my professors during my time at Wheaton. They are active scholars in their fields who genuinely care about engaging their students as scholars, creators, and world citizens capable of meaningful change.
