Dear Wheaton Community,
We are pleased to share that the search for Wheaton’s ninth president has reached an important milestone. Close to 1,400 individuals helped to inform the Presidential Search Committee’s understanding of Wheaton’s most attractive and distinctive characteristics, the essential opportunities and challenges our next president will need to address, and the qualifications that person should possess. Between late February and mid-March, the Presidential Search Committee held more than 20 constituent group “listening sessions” and conducted a community-wide survey to this effect. Additionally, since early February, we received dozens of messages from community members at firstname.lastname@example.org, an account which we continue to monitor for feedback and recommendations.
The extensive insights and input that were gathered from the “listening sessions” and survey have been incorporated into a Presidential Prospectus (PDF) which will now be used to recruit and review candidates for the presidency of the college. Community members are encouraged to disseminate the prospectus, which is a public document, to anyone they believe might be interested in this opportunity; we continue to welcome nominations at email@example.com.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to the creation of the Presidential Prospectus. We expect that this document will help yield extraordinary candidates.
