Community Survey for Presidential Search Process

Dear Wheaton Community,

Throughout the past 10 days, the Presidential Search Committee has been holding “listening sessions” with many groups within the Wheaton community: Current and Emeriti Trustees; the President’s Council; Faculty; Staff; Students; Alumni; Parents; Volunteers and Benefactors. These forums were designed to learn what members of the community believed were the distinctive characteristics and greatest attributes of Wheaton that would attract someone to the position, what they viewed as the opportunities, challenges and priorities that the next president needed to address, and what they felt were the “must have” qualifications that the new president should possess. In total the search committee completed over 20 sessions and spoke with close to 400 individuals.

While the invitations to join these sessions were broadly sent, the Search Committee understands that many of you were not able to attend so we invite you to share your thoughts on Wheaton’s next president by completing a confidential survey that you can access at Please complete the survey by Monday, March 15.

The input from the listening sessions and the survey will form the basis for a “Presidential Profile and Position Specification” that will be used to build a list of potential candidates for the Wheaton presidency to be considered by the Presidential Search Committee. When this document is finalized it will also be posted on the Presidential Search section of the Wheaton website.

Thank you in advance for taking the time to participate in this important process. We look forward to hearing your ideas.
